We decided to make our way down to Ikon - an internationally acclaimed contemporary art venue in Birmingham, UK. All of the exhibitions were inspiring but what really impressed us was Lee Bul's Via Negativa located on the second floor of the gallery. What it is is a labyrinth that confuses our sense of space through faceted and highly reflective surfaces (Ikon Exhibition Guide, 2014). In Lee Bul's own words it is an analogy for the human mind and it makes the viewer feel uncomfortable and self-conscious seeing their fragmented selves. What intrigued us the most about it was not only the artist's idea behind it but the installation itself and the way it makes you rebuild your perception of the environment... and of yourself.

As we mentioned in a previous post , we moved to a new exciting quarter in Birmingham - Jewelry Quarter. Here are some of the photos from our first "expedition" around our new living place. It was a love at first sight.
M and P send you all their love.
A month ago we, Monika and Paulina moved in together in Birmingham, United Kingdom. But we didn't just move in any area of the city, we started our life together in the Jewellery Quarter - the most creative and inspiring part of Birmingham. We went on several expeditions and explored the beauty of our new neighbourhood. Even the sidewalks have their story to tell - this is one of the many charms lying between the tiles on four of the nearby streets. Step by step our journey around the Jewellery Quarter led us to an idea... to start a blog.
